HeartHub.org Launched to Give Patients Needed Information

A new Web site for heart patients and their families and caregivers to find lifesaving information is www.HeartHub.org, which has been created by the American Heart Association and stocked with tools, resources, and information on an array of heart conditions.

Features include an interactive glossary; Click-To-Talk, where users enter their names and telephone numbers and are then contacted by a representative from AHA's 24-hour call center; the Quick Facts Video Library; and daily updates of health news.

"Heart Hub offers one-stop shopping for people diagnosed with heart disease and stroke, those who have high cholesterol or other risk factors, and healthy people who want to stay that way," said Dr. Daniel Jones, president of the American Heart Association and dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. "With Heart Hub, doctors, nurses, and other health care providers can quickly and easily lead patients to a credible, abundant source of heart and stroke information," he said.

AHA said the site also includes a "health centers" menu with information on everything from cardiac arrhythmia to peripheral artery disease.
