Five NACOSH Slots Open; Apply by Feb. 29

Five vacancies are about to be filled on OSHA's National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, NACOSH, a 12-member panel of safety and health luminaries that is required to meet at least twice a year. OSHA's notice in today's Federal Register says two public representatives, one management representative, one representative of occupational safety professions, and one representative of occupational health professions are being chosen this time.

All of NACOSH's members are selected by the secretary of Labor, but the HHS secretary will designate for appointment by the Labor secretary one public representative and also one occupational health profession representative. Any interested person or organization may nominate someone for any of the positions.

To submit a nomination, visit www.regulations.gov and identify the agency's name and Docket No. OSHA-2008-0002. The OSHA contact for more information is Deborah Crawford in the Directorate of Evaluation and Analysis (phone 202-693-1932, fax 202-693-1641, [email protected]).
