California Firefighter Returning to 'Dirty Jobs' Set

Holly Novak, a Fremont, Calif., firefighter, is going back to the set of Discovery Channel's hit TV show "Dirty Jobs" in an episode expected to air in September, the International Association of Fire Fighters announced recently.

"The first time I saw the show, I went to the show's web site and noticed a viewer had suggested being a firefighter for a day. I invited the producers to Fremont," Novak explained. Show host Mike Rowe and a crew visited Fremont's Station 9 and then filmed a live burn created in an abandoned house by Novak and other firefighters. This show originally aired in January 2006, IAFF said.

"Dirty Jobs" is preparing a retrospective featuring past guests, which is why the show's personnel called Novak back before the cameras.
