ASSE's GHS Audio Conference Set for March 21
The American Society of Safety Engineers has scheduled an audio conference call March 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CDT to discuss the Globally Harmonized System of Classification of Chemicals' impact on the safety, health and environmental professionals. GHS is a classification system that affects Hazard Communication compliance and the use of Material Safety Data Sheets.
ASSE said the conference call will focus on whether or not the United States is ready for GHS and will explore what GHS is, what it is not, how it will change Material Safety Data Sheets and HazCom programs. The presenters are Mary Francis Lowe of EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs and Jennifer Silk, former OSHA deputy director for the Directorate of Standards and Guidance. There will be a Q&A session after the presentation.
