Workers Review Job Site Safety

OSHA and Holder Construction Celebrate 20-Year Partnership Advancing Jobsite Safety

Decades-long collaboration has expanded training, reduced hazards, and empowered future construction professionals.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s OSHA is celebrating two decades of collaboration with Holder Construction Group LLC, a partnership that has significantly advanced worker safety and health on construction sites throughout the Southeast.

Established in 2005, the strategic partnership between OSHA and Holder Construction has centered on reducing injuries, illnesses, and workplace hazards while expanding safety training and strengthening safety and health programs across the company’s projects.

The partnership supports OSHA’s broader efforts to promote cooperative safety management practices between government and private-sector contractors. Over the past 20 years, Holder has also aligned with national safety initiatives, participating in OSHA’s Fall Stand-Down and Safe + Sound campaigns, and contributing to the Georgia Struck-by Alliance and Stand-Down, which has trained more than 140,000 workers.

“Holder Construction has demonstrated consistent leadership in workplace safety by not only meeting OSHA’s rigorous standards, but also taking proactive steps to involve its workforce and the wider community,” the agency said in a statement.

The company has invited OSHA to conduct verification audits at partnership sites and frequently engages OSHA compliance assistance specialists to address safety professionals at its annual Safety Day event.

The first partnership project began on May 26, 2005, at the Maynard Holbrook Jackson Jr. International Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Since then, Holder’s collaborations with OSHA have extended to other major developments, including the State Farm Arena, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Trilith LIVE!.

Over the past two decades, Holder has trained nearly 40,000 workers, including thousands from industry contractors. The company has also provided free OSHA 10-hour training to hundreds of high school students, helping to prepare the next generation of safety-conscious construction professionals.

OSHA’s Strategic Partnership Program is designed to engage employers, workers, and industry groups in cooperative efforts that lead to measurable improvements in workplace safety and health.
