Oregon OSHA Offers Grants for Workplace Safety, Health Training

The training grants will focus on programs that target high-hazard Oregon industries like construction or agriculture, or focus on reducing or eliminating hazards in a specific work process.

Oregon OSHA is accepting grant applications for the development of workplace safety and health training programs. Applications for the grant are due Friday, Oct. 5.

The training grants will focus on programs that target high-hazard Oregon industries like construction or agriculture, or focus on reducing or eliminating hazards in a specific work process. Any employer, labor group, school affiliated with a labor group, or nonprofit organization may apply for the grant.

Applicants can request up to $40,000 per grant project. Oregon OSHA is encouraging unique projects such as mobile apps, videos, or games to engage employees.

Employers cannot use grants to pay for training for their employees.

The Oregon Legislature launced the Occupational Safety and Health Education and Training Grant Program in 1990, and award recommendations are made by Oregon OSHA’s Safe Employement Education and Training Advisory Committee.

More grant application information can be found on Oregon OSHA’s website.
