Many New Products on Display at Expo

Beyond the networking opportunities and the chance to advance one's knowledge, AIHce 2008 allow product manufacturers to unleash onto the IH world their latest and greatest products. With more than 300 exhibitors expected to be on the expo floor, it can be a daunting task for attendees to make time to view them all. Here is a random sample of what this year's event has to offer.

RAE Systems Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based gas detection and industrial hygiene monitoring manufacturer, will introduce it next-generation photoionization (PID) based instruments and wireless gas detection solutions at booth #615. The wireless products include the AreaRAE™ Steel, a 5-sensor, wireless detection system with three new sensor options (HCl, HF, and CO); and the LifeShirt™, a durable, lightweight chest strap with sensors that can be integrated with the AreaRAE to monitor the vital signs of high-risk industrial workers and first responders.

Syracuse, N.Y.-based Galson Laboratories will introduce two new information tools at AIHce 2008: "The Wizard" is an online tool that helps clients easily develop an air sampling plan; also, Galson's free instructional videos which are designed to provide step-by-step instructions on a wide range of relevant topics, including calibration of sampling pumps, sampling for silica and respirable dust, and using rental equipment. Baseline-MOCON Inc., a subsidiary of MOCON is launching its Bronze Label piD-TECH® plus photoionization sensor. The Bronze Label represents a new mid-range addition to Baseline-MOCON’s line of patented piD-TECH® plus photoionization sensors for portable and stationary gas monitors. 3M will be displaying its two new NIOSH N95 respirators that were recently cleared by the FDA for use by the general public in public health medical emergencies. These two respirators--3M™ Particulate Respirator 8612F and 3M™ Particulate Respirator 8670F--are designed to reduce exposure to airborne germs during a public health medical emergency such as an influenza pandemic. Casella USA will debut its all new CEL-240 digital sound level meter. This meter is based on low power digital signal processing technology found in the CEL-350 dBadge range of personal noise dosimeters and measures from 30 to 130 dB with the A and C frequency weightings and provides the Slow, Fast, and Impulse time responses.
