ARTBA Publications Aid Job Site Spanish Communication
The American Road & Transportation Builders Association is offering two publications that can help English-speaking safety managers and others communicate with Spanish-speaking workers. One is a pocket-sized Spanish-English dictionary; the other, the companion "Spanish-English Construction Communication" book, contains thousands of words broken into lists of safety terms, related slang, and common sentences related to each phase of construction.
ARBTA is selling "Spanish-English Construction Communication" for $28. The dictionary features nearly 1,500 words and terms frequently used on construction sites and is available for $13. Discounts are available for bulk orders.
