    ONLINE CR(VI) TRAINING

    Summit Training's online hexavalent chromium training course is now available in video and DVD formats. The areas covered include: "What is Hexavalent Chromium?"; "Permissible Exposure Limits"; and "Staying Safe." Chromium compounds are poisonous if inhaled or ingested and can cause serious skin allergic reactions.

      WEAR-TIME TOOL

      A new wear-time evaluation tool, available free from Howard Leight by Sperian, is designed to inform workers of the damage caused by removing their hearing protection. On one side, the disc identifies the optimal amount of attenuation a hearing protection device (HPD) will provide over an eight-hour shift. The reverse side offers advice on selecting the proper hearing protector.

          DIGITAL FIRE SIMULATOR

          BullEx Digital Safety's fire extinguisher training product, the HotShot, uses an LED panel to simulate flames that respond directly to a trainee's actions. Sensors on the device interact with BullEx's SmartExtinguisher™ to detect where the trainee is aiming and sweeping. The device can simulate class A, B, and C fires at four different difficulty levels. Booth 1842.

            EMS Safety Services' new Triple Combo student workbook features an AED, CPR, and first aid program together in one easy-to-read workbook.                   LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING

                  The American Heart Association's new suite of Heartsaver™ and Family and Friends™ basic life support training materials reflects the association's 2005 guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiovascular care. Incorporating the "practice-while-watching" training method, the student texts feature color-coded lesson maps, an easy-to-reference content design, and a workbook format for easy note taking.
