Fleet Professionals Gain New Pathway to High-Level Compliance Training

J. J. Keller’s new CTRE™ program offers fleet professionals advanced, hands-on training in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including driver qualification, hours-of-service, vehicle compliance and audit preparation.

J J. Keller & Associates Inc. has introduced a certification program designed to recognize fleet professionals who complete advanced training in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

The Certified Transportation Regulatory Expert (CTRE) program provides in-depth instruction designed to help participants enhance fleet compliance efforts and mitigate regulatory risk. According to the company, the curriculum is geared toward professionals responsible for transportation safety, driver oversight, and compliance with federal trucking regulations.

“Fleet professionals are under constant pressure to maintain compliance while managing operational demands,” said Dustin Kufahl, vice president of consulting and training services at J. J. Keller. “The CTRE program gives them the tools, knowledge, and confidence to meet regulatory requirements and excel as leaders.”

The five-day, in-person program includes live drills, interactive lessons, tabletop exercises, and audit simulations that mirror real-world scenarios. Coursework covers:

  • FMCSR structure, interpretation, registration, and recordkeeping
  • Driver qualification, drug and alcohol testing, and Clearinghouse requirements
  • Hours-of-service rules, ELD use, and log auditing
  • Vehicle maintenance, hazmat compliance, and cargo securement
  • CSA scoring, safety ratings, and audit preparation

Sessions are held at J. J. Keller’s headquarters in Neenah. Participants receive access to compliance resources, small-group instruction, and ongoing regulatory updates.

“This certification is more than a credential — it’s a career accelerator,” Kufahl said. “Participants leave with practical strategies to reduce legal risk, improve safety practices and protect fleets from violations.”

Enrollment is open for upcoming sessions. More information is available at JJKeller.com/CTRE or by calling 833-708-4633.
