OSHA Announces FACOSH Meeting on October 17

The public is invited to attend the online session, which will address the health of federal employees.

OSHA will hold an online meeting of the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH) on October 17, 2024. The public meeting will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET, and interested parties can attend in listen-only mode.

FACOSH advises the Secretary of Labor on various topics related to the health and safety of federal employees. The council’s mission includes finding ways to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses among the federal workforce and supporting executive branch agencies in developing and maintaining effective occupational safety programs.

According to a recent release, the October 17 meeting includes remarks from OSHA Assistant Secretary Douglas Parker and updates on regulatory activities. Attendees will hear a report from FACOSH’s Subcommittee on Best Practices and Lessons Learned as well as presentations on job classifications and Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

The public will have listen-only access but can submit comments and requests to speak at the meeting through the Federal eRulemaking Portal using Docket Number OSHA-2023-0012. The deadline for submitting these requests is September 30, 2024.

For more information on participation details, see the FACOSH request for nominations.
