NSC, NIOSH Renew Partnership to Enhance Workplace Safety

The collaboration aims to push occupational safety and health strategies forward.

The National Safety Council (NSC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) have renewed their partnership, which jointly advocates for worker protection, safety best practices and the adoption of health management programs and prevention strategies.

The NSC, a prominent nonprofit safety advocate, and NIOSH, a key federal agency committed to occupational safety and health research, have continually combined their efforts to tackle workplace hazards. This partnership includes initiatives such as evaluation research, outreach, communication and professional development opportunities in occupational safety and health.

“It is with great excitement we announce this renewed partnership with NIOSH,” NSC President/CEO Lorraine Martin said in a statement. “As America’s leading nonprofit safety advocate, the opportunity to once again work alongside this agency to improve safety for all workers is an honor. Through our shared commitment and continued efforts, I believe we can and will advance workplace safety and save lives.”

Likewise, NIOSH Director John Howard highlighted the importance of adapting to the changing nature of work and the role of strong partnerships in this endeavor. “As the nature of work continues to evolve, these strong partnerships are key to addressing the needs of workers and employers both today as well as in the future,” he said in the NSC press release.
