OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety Meets in February

The meeting, set for Feb. 22, 2024, is available for both in-person and virtual attendance.

OSHA will host the next meeting of its Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) in Washington on Feb. 22, 2024.

According to a release dated Jan. 25, the day-long session, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST, will feature insights from Doug Parker, Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health, and updates from OSHA's Directorate of Construction. One key discussion point is the role and challenges of women in construction, reflecting the industry's evolving demographic landscape.

Preceding the main committee meeting, three specialized workgroups will assemble on Feb. 21, 2024. The Emerging Technology group will explore the latest innovations from 9-11 a.m., followed by the Workzone group, which will focus on safety in construction zones from 12-2 p.m. The day concludes with the Health in Construction workgroup from 2:10-4:10 p.m.

The meetings are open to public participation, but given the limited capacity of 25 in-person attendees, interested parties are encouraged to register for virtual attendance by February 15. Public comments and requests to speak at the meeting must be submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal, referencing Docket Number OSHA-2024-0002, by the same deadline.

More details are available on the Federal Register notice and the ACCSH webpage.
