NSC Safety Technology Pavilion Spotlights Emerging Technologies

The Safety Innovation Challenge, a key element of the Pavilion, will highlight tech solutions for musculoskeletal disorders, voting set for Oct. 24.

The NSC Safety Congress & Expo, running from Oct. 23-25 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, will feature the NSC Safety Technology Pavilion at Booth #2437, offering an educational glimpse into the future of safety technology.

Open to attendees throughout the three-day event, the Pavilion provides an opportunity for industry professionals to interact with new technologies, engage in tech talks, and converse with experts about the advancing landscape of safety and health technology.

A notable feature is the Safety Innovation Challenge, emphasizing technologies addressing upper extremity work concerns, including repetitive movement, overhead work, and vibration. This challenge comes in the wake of data indicating musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) as the predominant workplace injury, impacting nearly a quarter of the global population.

The challenge has shortlisted six finalists, namely Reactec, Feraru, Hilti, LifeBooster, 3MotionAI, and Bioservo IronHand. These companies will display their innovative solutions at Hazard Stations within the pavilion:

  • Hazard Station 1: Addressing hand-arm vibration with a hand sander.
  • Hazard Station 2: Tackling overhead work using a peg board above shoulder height.
  • Hazard Station 3: Solving repetitive movement with a bolt, nut, and washer board.

Attendees will witness these tech solutions in action and gain insights on their application across diverse industries to mitigate the risks of MSD injuries, particularly in repetitive movement and hand-arm vibration.

Attendees can also cast their vote for the Safety Innovation Challenge Semi-Finalists until Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m. Three selected finalists will then present their technology at the event's Closing Keynote.

The Safety Technology Pavilion’s demo schedule at the will see the six semi-finalists present their technologies. Demos on Monday, Oct. 23 will include Reactec at 10:15 a.m., Hilti at 10:45 a.m., and Bioservo IronHand at 11:15 a.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 24, Feraru is set to demo at 10:15 a.m., followed by LifeBooster at 10:45 a.m., and 3MotionAI at 11:15 a.m. (See the full demo schedule.)

The NSC Safety Technology Pavilion will open throughout the Safety Congress & Expo, but will be closed for private events on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
