The presentation focused on non-conventional approaches to near-miss programs.

His Safety+ presentation, titled “Exploring New Territory: Subtle Barriers to Near-Miss Reporting” took place on Sept. 18. In it, Ndana showcased non-conventional techniques, tactics and routines that can transform an underperforming near-miss program.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Ndana has experience in several areas, including environment health and safety (EHS), project management and Lean manufacturing. His expertise spans multiple sectors, including oil & gas and steel. Ndana also has managed global teams and has extensive knowledge of European, U.S. OSHA, and global HSE regulations

Bilingual in English and French, Ndana was named the 2017 Safety Professional of the Year by J.J. Keller & Associate, Inc. and received the 2018 ASSP Management Innovation Award. He has spoken at several safety conferences worldwide and has mentored and trained over 200 health and safety managers. Ndana has authored several published articles on safety.

As the 2023 Safety+ Symposium continues through Sept. 20, attendees can look forward to further insights from other experts in occupational health and safety. The event offers a variety of voices that will contribute to industry discussions in the coming year and beyond.
