VPPPA's 2023 Safety+ Symposium Shines a Spotlight on Networking

The annual safety event features several key networking opportunities.

In the world of occupational safety and health, the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) stands out, not just for its dedication to promoting safety across industries but also for its emphasis on fostering strong professional relationships. At the 2023 Safety+ Symposium, taking place from Sept. 17- 20, networking events have been specially curated to allow safety professionals to interact, share and grow together.

Kicking off on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 5:00 p.m., the VPPPA Annual Meeting of the Membership Opening Reception promises attendees a comprehensive overview of the VPPPA's achievements, ongoing projects and a look into the future. The evening even gives members the opportunity to actively participate in setting policies and elect member representatives for the Board of Directors. Afterwards, attendees will be treated to hors d'oeuvres and beverages, making for an excellent setting to mingle and initiate week-long interactions.

The networking continues on Monday, Sept. 18, with the VPPPA Regional Networking Reception from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Designed as a more relaxed gathering, attendees will get to connect with fellow safety professionals from their regions, including their regional board members. Attendees are encouraged to wear the color-coded T-shirts they receive during registration, representing their respective regions. Alongside building camaraderie, the reception ensures attendees enjoy their evening with complimentary food and drinks.

Tuesday, Sept. 19, stands out for health enthusiasts with the Safety+ Health and Wellness Expo as well as the 5k Fun Run/Walk, both starting bright and early at 6:30 a.m. A blend of health and networking, participants can get their adrenaline pumping while making new connections. Lastly, on the same day from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the VPP State Plan Managers meeting promises a focused discussion, ensuring state-level concerns and strategies receive attention.
