Health and Safety at ASSP Safety 2023

Getting ready to meet and network with other professionals and companies at Safety 2023 in San Antonio, Texas next week? Here’s what you need to know about the health and safety requirements.

We are almost one week away from the American Society of Safety Professionals’ (ASSP) Safety 2023 Conference and Expo (Safety 2023)!

Just a few years ago with the onset of COVID-19, attending an in-person conference and expo seemed like a distant memory. But now, it’s an exciting reality.

If you’re attending Safety 2023 in person in San Antonio, Texas, here’s what you need to know about the health and safety requirements.

You do not need to show proof of vaccination. To enter the show, attendees will not have to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19, but “ASSP strongly recommends that you get up to date with your COVID-19 vaccinations and applicable boosters,” per its website.

Consider taking a COVID-19 test before you hit the skies (or road). While testing for COVID-19 prior to the show is not mandatory, the organization “strongly recommends” it. If you do test positive, call the customer service team at +1 (847) 699.2929.

Masks are not required, but rather “encouraged.” You don’t need to wear a mask when attending Safety 2023 but can if you would like to.

Practicing healthy habits is also “encouraged.” Some habits we adopted at the start of the pandemic, like social distancing, and others we’ve been doing for a while, such as washing our hands and using hand sanitizer, are “encouraged” while at Safety 2023.

Safety 2023 is taking place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, from June 5 to 7. The expo floor will be open on June 5 from 11:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; June 6 from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and June 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Sessions will be offered on June 5 from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.; June 6 from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.; and June 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
