In 2011, NIOSH launched Total Worker Health. This initiative focuses on the well-being of workers—not just their physical health and safety at work—and hinges on the idea “that work is a social determinant of health,” per NIOSH’s website. Earlier this year, the Society of Total Worker Health was launched.
