OSHA Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor Announced as Closing Speaker for AIHce EXP 2022 Conference
James Frederick will speak about initiatives at OSHA at the May conference.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association has announced the closing keynote speaker for its conference in May.
According to a press release, James Frederick, the deputy assistant secretary of Labor for OSHA, will be the closing speaker. Frederick will speak on rulemakings and initiatives at OSHA and on “how the occupational safety and health community can best prepare for the challenges and opportunities presented by the changing workforce.”
Frederick has 30 years of experience in the health and safety industry, including 25 years in the Health, Safety and Environment Department of the United Steelworkers Union, where he was the assistant director and principal investigator.
According to the release, he has been on many boards including the ANSI Z10 standard committee, the NIOSH National Occupational Research Agenda’s Traumatic Injury Prevention Council and the OSHA Metal Working Fluids Standard Advisory Committee.
“We are proud to welcome Deputy Assistant Secretary Frederick to AIHce EXP,” said AIHA CEO Lawrence D. Sloan in the press release. "The Assistant Secretary's commitment to advocating for occupational health and safety makes him an exceptional speaker, and AIHce EXP attendees are eager to attend his closing general session.”
The American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Expo (AIHce EXP) runs from May 23-25 in Nashville, Tennessee. A virtual component will also be held for those who cannot attend in person.
