Raytheon Global Headquarters Named “Star Level” Worksite Again

The aerospace and defense company had its status renewed last week.

Last week, Raytheon had its “star level” recognition renewed by OSHA.

According to a press release, Raytheon’s global office in Waltham, Massachusetts, employs about 350 workers who are responsible for office functions, “provide technical expertise, conduct shipping and receiving and ensure facility operations.”

First designated as a “star level” site in 2018, Raytheon received the renewal after an evaluation in January 2022.

The status falls under the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program, the highest level of recognition in health and safety. To be considered for the program, employers must apply and “undergo a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of safety and health professionals,” per the website.

“Raytheon Global Headquarters is committed to excellence in workplace safety and health,” said OSHA Regional Administrator Galen Blanton in Boston in the press release. “Raytheon is keenly aware of the benefits of protecting its workers. Since its initial approval it has especially focused on limiting ergonomic hazards of office environments, even for remote workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
