OSHA Cites Company for Violations Relating to Fall Hazards
OSHA’s citations include nine violations, including three willful.

A contractor is being cited for violations relating to fall protection.
According to a press release, ARP Renovation LLC/A.R.P. Roofing & Siding LLC was fined for allegedly exposing workers to fall hazards and not providing safeguards. OSHA found the company exposed workers to falls from 10 to 18 feet without protection. Under OSHA’s standards, the companies’ workers were required to have fall protection when working six or more feet above the ground.
Per the press release, the companies’ owner was informed about the necessary requirements but allegedly refused to correct them. OSHA then posted an imminent danger notice.
OSHA cited them for three willful violations. OSHA also issued five serious and one other-than-serious violation for not:
- “Providing employees with a training program about fall hazards.
- Ensuring ladder side-rails were extended three feet above the upper landing surface.
- Providing employees with a ladder safety training program.
- Ensuring employees wore head protection when working below roofing operations.
- Maintaining OSHA 300 illness and injury records.”
In total, the violations carry a penalty of $501,376.
“How dangerous is working without fall protection? Falls are the leading cause of death in construction work in the U.S., the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports. In 2020, falls accounted for more than one-third of all construction fatalities nationwide. These fatalities can be prevented if employers follow safety standards to protect their workers from known hazards.” said OSHA Regional Administrator Galen Blanton in Boston in the press release.
In 2014 and 2021, the companies were cited for similar violations.
A.R.P. Roofing & Siding LLC of Maine and ARP Renovation LLC in New Jersey are owned by the same person.
