Company Cited for Not Fixing Violations Relating to Fire Risk

OSHA again cited a cabinetmaker after they exposed workers to fire risks.

One Florida company was cited again after they continued to expose workers to fire risks.

According to a press release, OSHA cited Deering Custom Cabinets LLC of Pensacola, Florida after failing to abate violations.

Originally, OSHA inspected the company in January 2021. Later that year, OSHA found Deering Custom Cabinets LLC let workers use equipment near flammable materials and did not have automatic sprinklers in spray booths, among other violations. This resulted in three failure-to-abate violations. The proposed penalty is $157,977.

“Protecting workers’ lives is not optional. Every workplace must implement a comprehensive safety and health program to reveal and fix problems quickly, and reduce the risk and severity of workplace injuries,” said OSHA Area Office Director Jose A. Gonzalez in Mobile, Alabama in a press release.

Deering Custom Cabinets LLC has 15 days to respond.
