The Governors Highway Safety Association's second National Summit on Rural Road Safety will take place Dec. 4-6 at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront in Savannah, Ga. The three-day event will help participants identify key transportation issues and safety solutions in rural areas, focused on the inaugural event's call to action of "On the Road to Zero, We Cannot Ignore Rural," according to GHSA.
GHSA Director of Policy and Government Relations Russ Martin will participate in a Dec. 5 panel discussion on "Doubling Down on Things That Work" to provide an update on state highway safety offices' activities in rural areas.
Speakers from organizations including DOT, AASHTO, GHSA, the National Safety Council, and several state DOTs will be presenting sessions during the event on successful strategies and partnerships.
