Kubota Recalls Mowers and Compact Tractors Due to Burn Hazard
According to the recall notice, hot coolant can spray out onto users from the overheated and pressurized coolant reservoir tank and pose a burn hazard. Kubota has received three reports of burn injuries from the coolant ejecting from the reservoir tank.
Kubota Tractor Corp. has recalled about 121,000 units of zero-turn mowers, compact tractors, and ride-on mowers, with the Consumer Product Safety Commission announcing the recall Nov. 7.
According to the recall notice, hot coolant can spray onto users from the overheated and pressurized coolant reservoir tank and pose a burn hazard. Kubota has received three reports of burn injuries from the coolant ejecting from the reservoir tank.
Consumers are asked to immediately stop using their recalled mowers and compact tractors and contact the company for a free replacement coolant reservoir tank cap. Kubota is contacting all known purchasers of the recalled items directly.
The recalled tractors and mowers were sold at Kubota dealers across the United States from July 2014 through September 2018. The recall refers to model year 2014 to 2018 Kubota with model numbers BX, GR, ZD, and ZG, diesel and gasoline-powered zero turn mowers, compact tractors, and ride-on mowers. The model number is printed on the side of the unit, and the data plate located on the side of the unit has the serial number.
