Red Wing Unveils Wall of Honor

The company welcomes submissions for the 2019 Wall of Honor at the website.

Red Wing Shoe Company on March 12 is unveiling its Wall of Honor, a monument featuring stories about skilled laborers who handled tough jobs while wearing the company's boots.

The company asked for customers' stories last summer and, after receiving nearly 500 submissions, selected 32 of them to highlight, along with their boots, on a permanent Wall of Honor at its flagship store in Red Wing, Minn. The online version is available at www.redwingamericaworking.com along with the wearers' stories of surviving job site accidents, repairing public services during dangerous storms, and more; the stories are in the honorees' own words.

"We receive thousands of notes every year from workers sharing their Red Wing stories - and oftentimes their boots. The Wall of Honor was created to honor these customers," said Dave Schneider, chief marketing officer at the company and the person who conceived the Wall of Honor. "Our customers tell us their Red Wing boots are like tools in their tool belt. We are touched by the amount of love our brand receives, and it felt right to provide a space where their stories can live forever, paying respect to our customers' boots and the remarkable work they have accomplished in their communities."
