Senate Panel Eyes FirstNet Progress This Week

U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., who chairs the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation, and the Internet, will convene the hearing at 10 a.m. July 20 as members evaluate FirstNet and AT&T's progress to date and the anticipated timeline to build, operate, and maintain the planned nationwide public safety broadband network.

A subcommittee of the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, & Transportation Committee has scheduled a hearing July 20 to examine the progress to date on the FirstNet emergency response communications network. U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., who chairs the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation, and the Internet, will convene the "Update on FirstNet" at 10 a.m. as members evaluate FirstNet and AT&T's progress to date and the anticipated timeline to build, operate, and maintain the planned nationwide public safety broadband network.

Witnesses scheduled to participate are:
