AIHce Heading East in 2018

The year's best U.S. industrial hygiene event will take place May 21-23 in Philadelphia, with Professional Development Courses offered May 19, 20, and 24.

SEATTLE -- With this week's AIHce EXP conference and expo in the books, and a resounding success at that, the two professional associations that co-host it and also their members and exhibitors can look forward to AIHce 2018. That one, the 80th annual conference in the series, will take place May 21-23 in Philadelphia, with Professional Development Courses offered May 19, 20, and 24, 2018.

Philadelphia is a family-friendly city, rich in history and home to America's oldest farmers' market in the Reading Terminal Market. The Pennsylvania Convention Center is close by, a facility that opened in 1993 and underwent an expansion that was completed in 2011. It has more than 2 million square feet of space, including seven exhibit halls totaling 679,000 square feet of exhibit space.

The event will feature a similar program to this month's AIHce in Seattle, including the popular Ignite! sessions. Those rapid-fire, five-minute sessions took place in a ballroom at the Washington State Convention Center and did not disappoint, covering everything from brewing beer and the industry hygiene elements of NASA missions to mentoring and IH professionals' ethics.

"It keeps your attention, it doesn't matter what the topic is," one attendee from Boeing said after a colleague told him his team has begun giving its own Ignite presentations at the company.

Sept. 6, 2017, is the submission deadline for anyone interested in presenting an educational session, PDC course, or Ignite session at AIHce 2018. The deadline for posters at the conference is March 2018.
