AIHce Heading West in 2017

The key conference for industrial hygienists will take place June 2-8, 2017. Meanwhile, the AIHA Fall Conference is only five months away.

BALTIMORE -- High-flying Seattle is the setting for AIHce 2017, which will take place June 2-8. This multicultural jewel of the Northwest is a feast for all of the senses, reflecting its Native American, Asian, and Scandinavian influences, and provides a wealth of opportunities for outdoor activities and sightseeing. The hub of the convention will be the downtown Washington State Convention Center, which is located just a few blocks from the city's waterfront and tourist mecca Pike Place Market.

Seattle received more than 40 inches of rain in five of the past 10 years. Fortunately for attendees visiting in June 2017, June is one of the warmest months of the year on average -- the average high is 69, the average low 52 -- and, with an average of 1.42 inches of rain, also one of the sunniest months. Only nine days in an average June are rainy in Seattle.

The hotel layout for AIHce 2017 is similar to the AIHce 2016 map here in Baltimore -- nine Seattle hotels, including the AIHce 2017 headquarters hotel, the 1,258-room Sheraton Seattle Hotel (1400 Sixth Ave.) -- are within walking distance of the convention center.

Meanwhile, the AIHA Fall Conference this year is set for Oct. 24-26 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. PDCs are taking place Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 26. Registration for the Fall Conference will open in July 2016.
