Colorado State Professor Receives Meritorious Achievement Award for Occupational Health and Hygiene

Stephen Reynolds is an associate head and faculty member in the Colorado School of Public Health.

ACGIH and Colorado State University announced that Stephen Reynolds, Ph.D., CIH, FAIHA, has received the Meritorious Achievement Award this year from ACGIH. Reynolds is a professor in Colorado State's Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences. The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists is a member-based organization that advances the science of occupational and environmental health and safety.

Reynolds received the award due to his recent research on agricultural environments, specifically the dairy industry. Reynolds worked with the High Plains Intermountain Center for Agricultural Health and Safety to identify factors contributing to illness and injury and how to reduce risks and increase sustainability.

He became a member of ACGIH in 1995 and served on its Board of Directors from 2008 through 2011, including serving as the board's chair in 2010. Reynolds served as chair of AIHA's International Affairs Committee in 2004-2005 and was named a Fellow of the American Industrial Hygiene Association in 2010.
