The best and brightest 2016 shows include NFMT 2016, which takes place in March 2016 in Baltimore, followed by AIHce 2016, ASSE's Safety 2016, NFPA's Conference & Expo VPPPA's national conference, WEFTEC 2016, and the 2016 National Safety Congress & Expo.

The 2016 occupational safety and health trade show season is practically upon us as mid-March arrives and daylight saving time beings (March 13, 2016, is the date this year). The list of must-see and ought-to-see events is long and continues into the fall. This article includes details about this lineup of trade shows and links to help you find out more about any of them that interests you.

The best and brightest 2016 shows include NFMT 2016 (billed as America's top facilities management conference and expo), which takes place in March 2016 in Baltimore, followed by AIHce 2016 (likewise in Baltimore) in May, ASSE's Safety 2016, NFPA's Conference & Expo VPPPA's national conference, WEFTEC 2016, and the 2016 National Safety Congress & Expo.

NFMT 2016
March 22-24, Baltimore Convention Center
This event is the National Facilities Management and Technology Conference & Exposition. Free to attend for facilities professionals nationwide, it offers more than 120 educational sessions and free entry to the exhibit hall, where a series of QuickFire sessions by exhibiting companies will take place during the three expo days.

AIHce 2016
May 21-26, Baltimore Convention Center
Considered the best U.S. annual conference for industrial hygienists, this event takes place in Baltimore's downtown Inner Harbor area. It is co-sponsored by the American Industrial Hygiene Association and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, the organization that ratifies and publishes the Threshold Limit Values (TLVs®) for Chemical Substances and Physical Agents and Biological Exposure Indices (BEIs®).

AIHce 2016 is offering a Thought Leader track, an idea borrowed from its 2015 Fall Conference. Thought Leader sessions will address topics that look into the future of industrial hygiene, including Big Data, the changing workforce, emerging markets and global IH/OK standards of care, exposure banding, IH business case development, and sensor technologies.

This conference's expo days and hours are:

NFPA Conference & Expo
June 13-16, Mandalay Bay Convention Center (Las Vegas)
One of the best U.S. fire and life safety annual conferences, this event brings together engineers, contractors, building managers, public and private fire service professionals, enforcement agencies, insurers, and utilities. The June 13 general session features NFPA President Jim Pauley and NFPA Board of Directors Chair Ernest J. Grant, Ph.D.

Safety 2016
June 26-29, Georgia World Congress Center (Atlanta)
The American Society of Safety Engineers' 2016 annual conference offers more than 240 educational sessions and one of the biggest expositions, with approximately 600 exhibitors expected, among U.S. safety trade shows. ASSE says the event "is for OSH professionals who want to achieve exceptional safety results" and will be attended by more than 4,000 industry professionals.

VPPPA National Conference

This conference is the 32nd annual VPPPA National Safety and Health Conference, to be attended by thousands of EHS professionals from VPP member companies and more than 300 exhibitors.

WEFTEC 2016
Sept. 24-28, New Orleans Morial Convention Center
WEFTEC®, the Water Environment Federation's Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference, is the largest conference of its kind in North America and offers water quality professionals from around the world the best water quality education and training available. It is recognized as the largest annual water quality exhibition, serves as a forum for domestic and international business opportunities, and promotes invaluable peer-to-peer networking among registrants.

The largest annual U.S. safety and health trade show, NSC brings together about 14,000 OSH professionals every year and offers close to 1,000 exhibitors on the sprawling expo floor.
