AIHA Signs Pact with Society for Chemical Hazard Communication

The agreement commits all parties to developing and maintaining the SDS registry program for chemical hazard communication.

According to a press release, the American Industrial Hygiene Associatino has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the AIHA Registry Programs, LLC and the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication. This agreement commits all parties to developing and maintaining the safety data sheets (SDS) registry program for chemical hazard communication and environment health professionals.

The SDS & Label Authoring Registry program gives credentials to qualified individuals who show proficiency tied to the requirements of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).

"AIHA has a focus on strategic partnerships, and we often hold up our relationship with SCHC as the model for how a good partnership should work," said AIHA President Daniel H. Anna, Ph.D., CIH, CSP.  "We are really proud of the work we have done together, and we are looking forward to our next phase of this relationship."

The agreement allows both organizations to work together in order to maintain the technical framework that supports the registry. It also allows them to assemble a team of experts and an advisory group.

  • The MGC Simple Plus

The MGC Simple Plus is a simple-to-use, portable multi gas detector that runs continuously for three years without being recharged or routinely calibrated after its initial charge and calibration during manufacturing. The detector reliably tests a worksite’s atmosphere for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, oxygen and combustible gases (LEL). Its durability enables the detector to withstand the harshest treatment and environments, hence earning it an IP 68 rating. The MGC Simple Plus is also compatible with a variety of accessories, such as the GCT External Pump. Visit gascliptech.com for more information. 3
