Successful VPPPA31 Is In the Books
More than 2,500 attendees participated in the association's 2015 conference. Next year, the event takes place in Kissimmee, Fla.
The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association's 2015 Safety & Health Conference concluded Aug. 27 with a closing keynote speech by Dallas Cowboys great Daryl Johnston, who outlined what it took to win three Super Bowls during his Cowboys career, spanning the team's greatest era so far. He was a fitting keynoter for #VPPPA31, which took place at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas.
Conference attendance stood at 2,525 as of Wednesday morning, and the number of exhibitors topped the total in 2014 and neared 300--about 20 percent more than anticipated, VPPPA Communications Manager Sarah Neely said. "We blew it out of the water this year," she added.
Next year's conference will take place at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Fla., and the 2017 event is set for New Orleans' Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. That's a very popular location with VPPPA members, and it is located in VPPPA's Region VI, the largest region of the association, she explained.
This year's conference went "very smoothly," Neely said. The only challenge was a power outage in part of the Gaylord Texan Tuesday night.
