Events Company Wins IOSH's Excellence Award

Concerto Live Scotland is the 2014 award winner announced at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Sept. 25.

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health presented its 2014 Excellence in Health and Safety Award to an events company located in northeast Scotland, honoring Concerto Live Scotland (part of the Concerto Group) at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Sept. 25.

According to IOSH, the Inverurie-based company "wowed judges with its culture of care and commitment to safety and health excellence. It uses procedures and practices not dissimilar to those that operate in the oil and gas sector to uphold a health and safety culture, and also employs a dedicated senior event safety advisor as part of its team."

"We are so thrilled to have picked up this award, especially since health and safety is at the core of everything we do. This award goes a long way in recognizing our commitment to client, stakeholder and staff safety, wherever we produce events locally, nationally, or internationally," said Nenah Favelle, managing director of Concerto Live Scotland. "Many of our clients operate within oil and gas – an industry that is extremely conscious of the safety of its team and the operations they conduct. We mirror these health and safety responsibilities, having created bespoke onsite operating procedures that ensure each and every individual -- be it crew, guests, or vendors -- is in a safe environment. We are hugely aware that our client's reputation is at stake when they engage us to organize their events. This award cements the fact that H&S remains at the top of our business priority list; we will never knowingly compromise on safety when delivering an event. We want to demonstrate to our industry peers the importance of raising safety standards in the events industry, and this award goes some considerable way in helping us do so."
