CDC Seeks Nominations for NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors

Nominees will be selected based on expertise in the field occupational safety and health, such as occupational medicine, occupational health nursing, industrial hygiene, toxicology, chemistry, safety and health education, ergonomics, epidemiology, biostatistics, and psychology.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is seeking nominations for positions on the NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors, a panel of 15 experts in fields related to occupational safety and health. The members are selected by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and they advise the NIOSH director.

Nominees will be selected based on expertise in the field occupational safety and health, such as occupational medicine, occupational health nursing, industrial hygiene, toxicology, chemistry, safety and health education, ergonomics, epidemiology, biostatistics, and psychology. Federal employees are not eligible for membership.

Members may be invited to serve for terms of up to four years. Nominees selected this time would begin service on the board in January 2016. They are asked to submit a CV, a letter of recommendation stating their qualifications, and a statement indicating the nominee is willing to serve as a potential member of the board.
