KFF, Harvard School to Outline Health Policy Priorities for 113th Congress

The Jan. 24 briefing in Washington, D.C., is sponsored by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Researchers from The Kaiser Family Foundation and the Harvard School of Public Health will present the results of a new survey of the American public asking about their health policy priorities for President Obama and the 113th Congress. The Jan. 24 briefing in Washington, D.C., is sponsored by Kaiser and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

"With challenging economic conditions, a looming debt limit deadline, and ongoing discussions about budget deficit reduction, the second term of the Obama Administration and the opening of the 113th Congress have led to nonstop debate and activity since the November elections," according to the online announcement of the event, which is free and open to the public.

It will begin with registration and lunch at 12:15 pm, followed by an introduction by Drew Altman, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Kaiser Family Foundation. Others scheduled to participate are David Colby, Ph.D., vice president for Public Policy at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; Mollyann Brodie, Ph.D., senior vice president and director, Public Opinion and Survey Research, Kaiser Family Foundation; Robert Blendon, Sc.D., senior associate dean and professor of Health Policy and Political Analysis, Harvard School of Public Health; and reporters from The New York Times, National Public Radio, and The Wall Street Journal.
