Parsons Brinckerhoff Appoints Global Safety Chief
Vanessa Forbes, based in the firm's London office, has experience as an inspector in the UK offshore industry and as a technical consultant in oil & gas and nuclear energy.
The engineering/construction management firm Parsons Brinckerhoff announced it has appointed Vanessa Forbes as Global Head of Health and Safety. The company's announcement said Forbes "will work closely with the firm's global business leaders and the safety community to develop a positive safety culture across the company."
Forbes has worked for Balfour Beatty plc, PB's parent company, since 2008, when she joined as Group Health, Safety and Environmental manager. She worked for six years as a structural integrity inspector for the offshore safety division of the Unite Kingdom's safety regulator and as a technical consultant in the nuclear and oil and gas industries, according to the company.
She has a Ph.D. in the reliability of offshore structures from the University of Surrey, an MS degree in marine technology from Cranfield University, and a bachelor of engineering in combined engineering from Coventry University.
She is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
