Next Monday kicks off National Work Zone Awareness Week 2025, a yearly commemoration where participants across the United States spread awareness of roadway work zone safety.
This year’s meaningful theme is “Respect the zone so we all get home.” Join us April 21–25 as we remind others of the merits of work zone safety. Per the latest data from the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse, in 2022 alone there were over 96,000 estimated work zone crashes with over 37,000 work zone injuries.
Of those incidents, 891 individuals were killed in those work zones. Nearly 100 of those fatalities were roadway workers within work zones. Data like this stands as a clear reminder for motorists to always slow down, stay focused, and always respect work zones so everyone—motorists, workers, and pedestrians—make it home.
