The Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board (GISHAB) is set to host two days of workplace safety and health training at the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup.
Maritime Safety Day will take place on Wednesday, April 2, offering industry professionals—from dock workers to offshore crews—training on best practices to stay safe on the job.
The following day, Thursday, April 3, marks the 17th annual Construction Safety Day, catering to construction workers, employers, apprentices, and safety professionals. The event will emphasize strategies to ensure job site safety and prevent workplace incidents.
Doors open at 7 a.m., with attendees welcomed by the fairgrounds’ signature scones and coffee. Each day will feature 18 safety-focused classes running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Complimentary parking is available in the Blue Lot, and lunch and snacks will be provided.
