Companies Offer Incentives for Vaccinated Workers

Sixty percent of workers polled by Perceptyx said they would get the COVID-19 vaccine if given a $100 incentive.

A poll by Perceptyx reported that monetary incentives are the best way to encourage workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine, according to The Business Journals.

There are many people that are hesitant about getting the vaccine, so employers can help ease those concerns and make the workplace safer overall by motivating their employees to get vaccinated. According to the Perceptyx poll, six out of 10 workers would get vaccinated if their employers gave a $100 incentive. Employees are also more likely to get the vaccine if they think their employers “care about them as a person.”

Some employers who were polled—38 percent—said that their jobs are requiring them to be vaccinated in order to return to working in-person. Additionally, 53 percent of respondents would get the vaccine on their own accord, while 56 percent would do so if advised by their employer. It has been said by legal experts that it is best that employers don’t mandate that workers get the vaccine because that could lead to them pursuing legal exemptions.

Corporations like Dollar General, Trader Joes, Instacard and Aldi are offering incentives to workers who get vaccinated. Some of those incentives include more flexible work schedules, bonuses and paid time off.

Respondents said that if they had to choose three mitigation efforts for going back to the office, they would be social distancing, frequent sanitation and wearing masks.
