DOT: January 2017 Airline On-Time Arrival Rate Down From January 2016

According to a news release, airline carriers posted an on-time arrival rate of 76% in January 2017, down from 81.3% in January 2016, but up from the 75.6% in December 2016. The report was part of the Air Travel Consumer Report (ATCR).

That report indicates 2% of the scheduled domestic flights were canceled. 30 tarmac delays occurred of more than three hours on domestic flights, while 12 tarmac delays of more than four hours on international flights occurred. 18 flights were chronically delayed for two consecutive months, while there were no chronically delayed flights for three consecutive months or more.
