Haitian Airline Joins Flight Safety Foundation
Sunrise Airways, based in Port-au-Prince, announced it is the first Haitian airline ever to gain membership in the foundation.
Sunrise Airways, a start-up airline based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, announced it is the first airline based in that country to gain membership in the Flight Safety Foundation.
FSF is a nonprofit organization founded in 1947 that provides expert safety guidance and resources for the aviation and aerospace industry. Based in Alexandria, Va., it has more than 1,000 members – airlines, organizations, and individuals -- in 150 countries.
"Membership in the Flight Safety Foundation is a proud and significant step forward, not just for Sunrise Airways, but also for aviation in Haiti in general," said Philippe Bayard, president of Sunrise Airways. "This helps to validate the professional state of our current operation within the country, while also ensuring we meet the highest international safety standards as we expand to new gateways in Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, and beyond to connect the Western Caribbean like never before."
