Understanding OSHA’s recent final rule on HazCom

Date: Thursday August 15, 2024 at 2:00pm ET - 1:00pm CT - 11:00am PT

OSHA's recent final rule on HazCom aims to improve worker protection by enhancing the consistency and clarity of hazard communication standards, aligning them more closely with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. This webinar will let you know more about the final rule; how it meshes with GHS rev 7/8; why that is important; and how (and when) to ensure to ensure compliance with the new final rule.

The results of this final rule are varied and immediate: The new final rule will require updates to their hazard communication programs, including revising safety data sheets (SDS) and labels to align with the updated GHS criteria. Companies will need to train employees on the new label elements and SDS format; ensure proper classification of hazardous chemicals; and maintain compliance with the updated standard to avoid penalties and enhance workplace safety.
