NSC Unveils New Web-Based Safety Management System

The National Safety Council has unveiled NSC Navigator, a new Web-based system that enables organizations to manage their safety management systems and measure performance. The new product is being demonstrated at the Congress & Expo.

NSC Navigator is a software solution suite that helps organizations maintain compliance with safety regulations and manage a process of sustainable improvement. The software combines NSC content, ICertainty solutions, and licensed Disney compliance and auditing technology and best practices. NSC is working with ICertainty to use Disney technology and knowledge to create customized software solutions that improve overall safety performance.

“There are elements that are critical to the success of any safety management system, regardless of an organization’s size or industry,” said Janet Froetscher, NSC president and CEO. “This partnership allows NSC to deliver proven methods to reduce workplace injuries and help identify leading indicators.”

“Given our long-standing relationship with the National Safety Council, we couldn’t be more pleased that ICertainty is working with NSC to change the world of safety management as we all work to make our world a safer place,” said Greg Hale, chief safety officer and vice president of worldwide safety and accessibility for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

“NSC Navigator uses our Web-based technology to help employers quickly deploy safety best practices that save lives, reduce injuries, and eliminate the time spent trying to manage safety programs using error-prone, manual processes,” said Ted Woodings, CEO of ICertainty. “And, because our system enables 100 percent real-time compliance, companies can achieve significant improvements in the effectiveness of their safety programs so employees remain unharmed at work and return home safely.”

The NSC Navigator will be available for commercial sales beginning in January 2011.
