Whatever Gets You Motivated, You'll Find It Here

It's that time once again--time to get motivated. The Motivation Show is kicking off today and running through Sept. 25, With more than 13,000 buyers and exhibitors--7,500 buyers and 6,000 exhibitors from more than 1,900 exhibiting companies--expected at the nearly 250,000 square feet of exhibit space at Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center, its safe to say the sheer size and scope are sure to impress.

A recent survey to corporate end-users conducted by the Incentive Marketing Association indicated that the most important aspects of a trade show for this audience were "education specific to me" and "opportunities to network with peers." As a result, this year's event has expanded its Executive Leadership Conference, "Strategies to Empower, Motivate and Reward," to include more seminars in four specific learning tracks: Employee Engagement, Motivating Sales and Channel Partners, Consumer Marketing, and Meeting and Incentive Travel Strategies.

Networking opportunities have also been improved this year as the IMA All-Industry Reception was moved onto the exhibit floor this afternoon, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The reception was open to all show registrants and provided complimentary beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks.

Chester Elton addressed the Keynote Luncheon on with his presentation "How the Best Managers Use Recognition to Engage Their People, Retain Talent, and Accelerate Performance."

Tim Sanders will speak at the Industry Luncheon on Wednesday with his presentation "The Next Big Thing Is People!" According to Sanders, "People are the key to running a great business." Taken from his new book, titled "Saving The World At Work," Sanders will outline the importance of focusing on relationships and human development as a way of finding success in an increasingly interconnected world and share concrete advice on how to better connect and network with others.
