Just In Case You Missed Them

The Live Product Demonstration Booth had great success attracting crowds on Monday and Tuesday. If you happened to have missed all or some of the presentations, here's a rundown of the products shown and their company booth numbers so you can check them out yourselves.

Pelican Products Inc., booth #1615.

The recently formed Advance Area Lighting Group from Pelican demonstrated their next generation LED and 12 volt battery products that allow workers to illuminate darkened work areas with the flip of a switch. With them, gone are the days when generator noise, flammable fuels, and snaking wires posed hazards to workers.

Sperian Protection Inc., booth #1401.

Howard Leight's VeriPRO™ technology makes it possible for safety managers to ensure employees are getting the most out of their hearing protection devices. Developed in conjunction with the House Ear Institute, VeriPRO measures real-world attenuation of unmodified ear plugs and can be used as a means to improve individual employee training and enhance the overall effectiveness of hearing conservation programs.

GreenRoad Technologies, booth #1513.

GreenRoad develops driver safety technologies that stop risky driving before accidents occur, and dramatically reduces crash rates for fleets and insurance companies. According to GreenRoad, combining in-vehicle technology with integrated web applications has resulted in fewer accidents, lower accident costs, reduced fuel costs, reduced CO2 emissions, and safer drivers.

National Safety Council, booth #301.

NSC showed how simulation-based 3-D video game technology and interactive training techniques can supplement traditional forklift training with the creation of Virtual Forklift Operator™, a new tool that provides operators with a realistic, hands-on experience that meets OSHA forklift safety standards. The product continuously tests trainees on inspection, driving, traffic rules, and inventory movement. The tool is designed for new and experienced operators.

IVES Training & Compliance Group Inc., booth #1573.

If your company uses forklifts or aerial lifts and you missed this presentation, be sure to make to check out the new Digital Training Aids from IVES Training Group. Each disc contains slide presentations with hundreds of colorful, technically accurate equipment images.

Pacific Industrial Contractor Screening, booth #120.

PICS demonstrated a free online tool for contractor prequalification called the Contractor Prequalification Management System. It includes OSHA logs, EMR records, and an insurance certificate tracker. Large facility owners, such as BP and Shell, as well as large general contractors use this program, which allows employees to keep track of which contractors are approved to work.

Chalk, booth #650.

With workforce mobility rising, effective wireless communication and just-in-time knowledge is critical to any successful EHS operation. Enter Mobile chalkboard™, an award-winning BlackBerry® application that lets users rapidly create media-rich, interactive content in PowerPoint, securely push it out to an always-available central inbox, and then track content usage.

Milliken & Company, booth #1588.

Milliken & Company, manufacturers of WorkWear fabrics, showcased the Amplitude™, their newest line of comfortable Milliken FR fabrics. Amplitude fabrics are NFPA 70E and NFPA 2112 compliant, but also feature increased air permeability and stretch characteristics for increased user comfort.
