Party Hats Optional: National Employee Benefits Day is April 2
The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans is gearing up to celebrate the annual National Employee Benefits Day, now marking its fifth year. The day, April 2, is a time for those responsible for employee benefit plans to acknowledge their dedication to providing quality benefits and the important role they play in their colleagues' well-being, the group says.
This year the foundation is encouraging benefits professionals to use the day as an opportunity to educate themselves and their participants on the importance of health care literacy, which the group defines as the ability to read, understand, and act on medical information. National Employee Benefits Day was created in 2004 by the foundation and is recognized in both the United States and Canada.
