'Youth @ Work': NIOSH Releases Classroom-Ready Curriculum

NIOSH has released Youth @ Work--Talking Safety, a foundation curriculum in occupational safety and health that the agency says is the culmination of many years' work by a consortium of partners dedicated to reducing occupational injuries and illnesses among youth.

This curriculum is meant to be used in a classroom or other group training setting, and has been customized for each state and Puerto Rico to address state-specific rules and regulations. The entire booklet, teacher overheads and PowerPoint presentations, student handouts, certificates, a video, and more is downloadable at NIOSH's Web site. The booklet includes instructions for teachers and a step-by-step guide for presenting the material. To access the materials, visit http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/youth@work/.
