AIHA, ASSE Renew Partnership

The American Industrial Hygiene Association and the American Society of Safety Engineers have announced in a recent joint news release that they have renewed their previously signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) in which both associations agreed to work cooperatively on all matters of mutual interest to reach common goals.

"AIHA promotes healthy and safe environments by advancing the science, principles, practice, and value of industrial hygiene and occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS)," said AIHA President Donald J. Hart, Ph.D., CIH. "AIHA and ASSE realize that a partnership such as this will strengthen the OEHS profession by utilizing resources from each organization and providing collaborated projects that will complement both organizations and the profession."

The two parties have agreed to work together in areas and on projects of mutual interest, including but not limited to:

  • Federal and state government relations
  • Public relations
  • Promotion of publications and products and services
  • Education
  • Foundations
  • Emergency preparedness and response

"Everyone can agree that safety, health, and environment excellence is paramount in all that we do, at work and in our personal lives," said ASSE President Michael W. Thompson, CSP. "We continue to be proud to collaborate with those organizations, particularly AIHA, that align with our vision to promote the importance of occupational safety, health, and the environment and the SH&E profession worldwide."
