OSHA has entered a strategic partnership with Harvey Construction Corp. to promote worker safety and health during the construction of the Mark Stebbins Community Center.
Under the agreement, OSHA and the Bedford-based contractor will collaborate on implementing safety and health management practices throughout the project. The partnership focuses on preventing common construction hazards, including falls, struck-by incidents, and caught-in or caught-between risks.
As part of the initiative, workers, supervisors, and employers involved in the project will receive training designed to improve hazard recognition and strengthen jobsite safety practices. The goal is to reduce injuries and illnesses through proactive planning and consistent safety oversight.
The Mark Stebbins Community Center project includes construction of a facility that will house a Boys & Girls Club gymnasium and a medical clinic operated by Amoskeag Health. Given the scope and complexity of the project, OSHA officials said coordinated safety efforts are essential to protecting workers throughout all phases of construction.
The partnership falls under OSHA’s Strategic Partnership Program, which encourages voluntary cooperation between the agency and employers to improve workplace safety and health beyond minimum compliance requirements.
OSHA officials stated that the collaboration aims to promote a culture of safety and shared responsibility on the jobsite, while demonstrating effective approaches to hazard prevention in the construction industry.
