The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) has opened its call for workshop proposals for the Safety+ 2026 Symposium, scheduled for Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 in Nashville, Tenn. Interested presenters must submit proposals by Dec. 9, 2025, according to the announcement.
The association said proposals will be evaluated through an anonymous scoring process. While VPPPA has identified several areas of interest—including process safety management, safety and health management systems lessons learned, employee engagement, safety culture, safety leadership, and construction safety—it noted that proposals on additional relevant topics will also be considered.
To guide submitters, VPPPA outlined several tips for strengthening proposals. The organization suggests that learning objectives follow the SMART framework, that presenters clearly identify who will benefit from the session, and that proposals be complete upon submission. VPPPA also noted that while multiple submissions per person are allowed, the number of final sessions per speaker will be limited.
Proposals must be submitted through the association’s online portal at https://safety.vpppa.org/call-for-workshops/, which also provides additional information on the event, what types of presentations the VPPPA wants, and what makes a successful proposal.
If prospective presenters have questions about the submission process, they can contact VPPPA’s education team at [email protected].
